Official Twitter App for iPad

Are you hooked to Twitter and iPad both? Well it’s a party time then….
Official Twitter app for the iPad is finally available. Yet another great job from Loren Brichter, the iPad app developer. The new app is all set with a brilliant interface which is significantly faster and intuitive than the other competing Twitter clients we’ve used (as for example – Twitterific and Tweetdeck).

Formerly known as Tweetie, Brichter’s popular iPhone app has impressed the big guns at Twitter headquarters. They have finally hired Loren to develop native Twitter software in house. Twitter for iPad is the first application developed after the collaboration. The first experience with the app clearly says that it’s a wise investment.

With this app the loading and sending tweets are almost instant, and the design is just awesome. For example, when you’re writing a new tweet, the app opens up a notepad-style window to compose the message, and it looks cute.

There are some other new features in it; such as if you tap on a tweet with a link, the content gets loaded in a browser pane. You can pinch a person’s tweet to have more details about the author, and can also swipe down to view the threaded conversation.

Well the paned view of the content is really cool and super fast while loading photos and web pages. The pinch and the two-finger swipe features are really gimmicky: a single tap on a tweet can show the profile details and threaded conversations as well, which means rendering the pinch and a double-swipe looks redundant.

In this app when you are composing a new tweet, you can add the location info, i.e. where you’re tweeting from, using a location-pin button. You can also attach a photo with a paperclip icon. We could not use the location-pin option well, but the photo-sharing feature resulted brilliantly.

If you consider all the features, it is a great app which is free.
